The International Retro Computer Expo 2026 now has tickets available (this
was formerly BoatFest, ran by the Amigos – John, Aaron and Brent) for

1) George Janssen has released a new Dots demo (DSK image and video)
as part of his 6809 assembly language series for the Coco 3:

2) Allen Huffman posted a blog talking about another way to abuse VARPTR
Extended BASIC, by using it for MID$ functionality. His warning at the

3) Jeff Noyle posted some updates to his Mythfarer game (that can run,
even with the same save files, on both a PC and a 512K Coco 3) on the Coco
Discord. These include:

4) Glen Hewlett has released CC3_Comp, a compressor and packer program
for the PC that will work with his Coco 3 Super Loader, which allows
full 2MB RAM access (including to MMU blocks that BASIC normally uses)
and compressed file loading):

5) Grant Bloedow posted a utility he wrote to make designing levels for
Rick Adams’s Temple of ROM game easier to make to the Coco Facebook group:

6) Keith Frechette showed the output of his RSDOS assembly to SAL (Structured
assembly language), using the CHKDIR routine from RSDOS as an example:

7) Jamie Cho is working on MVKit, a framework to make it easier to write full
Multi-Vue apps. He wrote a sample graphics editor program (with assistance
from AI Claude), and has links to the source code and DSK image to try. I
think he is using an older version of NitrOS9 and hasn’t implemented
the filled circle/ellipse functions that are now built in:

1) Jim Gerrie ported Space Alert originally for the Coco from TRS-80
Microcomputer News February 1982 issue (Tandy’s own magazine) to the
MC-10, and it runs 4K. This was originally written by J.W. Myers in 1981:
