The Coco Nation News stories for Episode 466, May 23, 2026 (May 16-22)
Collected and Presented by Rick Ulland
Game On news (all Coco related platforms):
1 ) Paul Thayer announces “Penguin Icarus” 2026 adaptation available
RSN. Really.

2 ) Vincent Tran got Quark. Nice gamepad. Must be a trend.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164284628792641/

https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164295115767641/
4 ) Rich Stephens announces FujiNet Five Card Stud for CoCo 3. Autoswitches
to CoCo2, just bring luck.
Dragon 32/64
1 ) Imma just leave this here. A channel I can’t pronounce ‘Lo que merece
ser escuchado’ discusses the Dragon for a solid 15 minutes. What about? No
clue. Have to follow the link!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9snO3bP_cpQ
2 ) Julian Brown updates flex PCB, the only bit I understand is getting
the chips wrong way up the first time. And Dragon users here to explain?
https://www.facebook.com/groups/dragon32/permalink/4414079078851727/
2b) and then, early signs of impending doom. The upgrade CPLDs have
arrived.

2c) leading to this horror show, provided by Cheep Chinese Crapton
tape. Krapton tape: melts when solder don’t.

2d) As a break, Julian next merged two working pieces of code together. It
of course exploded. The debugging begins…

2e) and fixed. Watch the forums or fall behind! So, CPLD assimulated.

2f) he also updated his ram repair board. For some D32 with 4116
‘timebomb’ DRAMS, this uses single voltage DRAM with no detonator.

Coco 1/2/3 (and multi-platform)
1 ) Don Sorensen broken his floppy. We advise. Note this is a moldy old
belt drive. Is David Ladd on the chat?
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164289511157641/
2 ) Paul Cunningham – CoCo 2 emulator on a 1.8″ OLED screen. Want a CoCo
smartwatch?
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164295115352641/
3 ) Mathew Ward scores a CCR-81 and has CoCo2 and MC10 operational. You
can tell he is new, still likes tape.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164288665297641/
3b) he’d also like to hear about modern docs. There are some good
suggestions in the comments.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164295672992641/
4 ) Happy Birthday, Hebert Vargas!
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10164301297247641/
5) Tonino Giagnacovo with more drive porn. A belt drive TEC with speed
issues. Seems oddly familiar.

7 ) TRS-80 Retro Programing covers CoCo colors

basic programs bk 1 to MC-10
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o08AfAIfThM
1b) also ‘Vectors’ by Geoff Wells. As you might fear, it’s navigating
a river using ‘Kentucky Windage’ and math(s)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB6jpYXoEPM
2 ) Jay Mundy volunteers Agent Deluxe for duty. Nice undercover ID –
a harmless old guy with bad knees. Ha!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtSanNnO0zM
3 ) John Papas has a CoCo laptop. Does it have a bettery? If not, is it
a laptop?
